David Rosenmiller Christlieb

1839–1925

David Rosenmiller Christlieb (Friedrich Carl Christlieb1, Carl Christlieb2, Jacob Christlieb3) [1001], born 6 November 1839, in Mifflin Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania; died 23 September 1925; married, 15 September 1870, Mary Elizabeth Coffin, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. Born 4 December 1836 in Rome, Ashtabula County, Ohio, Mary was the daughter of Edward Coffin. Prior to his marriage to Mary Elizabeth, David R. Christlieb enlisted in Company A, Minnesota Mounted Rangers and served one year in the Minnesota Indian War. After the war, David and Mary moved to Fowler, in Clinton County, Michigan, where their two children were born. Mary presumably died between 1895 and 1900, when widowed David Christlieb is enumerated in the home of his nephew Levi Weast in Shippensburg, PA. By World War I, David was a resident of the National Military Home in Montgomery County, Ohio, near Dayton. He died there on September 23, 1925.

  • Lucy Elizabeth Christlieb (Friedrich Carl Christlieb1, Carl Christlieb2, Jacob Christlieb3, David Rosenmiller Christlieb4) [1002], born 27 November 1871; died 8 August 1872.

  • Leroy Champion Christlieb (Friedrich Carl Christlieb1, Carl Christlieb2, Jacob Christlieb3, David Rosenmiller Christlieb4) [1002], born 8 June 1875. LeRoy was a resident of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania Asylum, when he registered for the World War I draft. In 1930, the U.S. Census shows him in the Pennsylvania State Hospital in Dauphin County at age 56.
