Isreal J. Koutz (Friedrich Carl Christlieb1, Carl Christlieb2, Sarah Christlieb3) [1008], born 11 August 1836, Mifflin Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania; died 19 March 1883; married Ella Cranston.

“Isreal J. Koutz enlisted in the Civil War on December 26, 1861 at Muir, Michigan. At age 26, Isreal served as a Private in Company I, Michigan Sharpshooters. He received a disability discharge on March 12, 1863. After the war’s end, Israel married Ella Cranston.”
