The 1850 census shows John and Elizabeth Christlieb as residents of Summit County, Ohio. It is assumed that John’s wife, Elizabeth née Sorrick, had died as John was residing with Sorrick family members when the census was taken. John Christlieb is listed as a carpenter and joiner, age 37. His daughter, Elizabeth, is listed as age 6. On 9 March 1852, John Christlieb married, 2nd, Mary Wise of Norton Twp., Summit County, Ohio. When the 1860 census was taken, John and family were residents of Freeport, Stephenson County, Illinois. John, age 48, was listed as a carpenter; Mary, his wife, age 38; Eliza, age 14, born in Ohio; Frank, age 7, born in Ohio; and Ellen, age 3, born in Illinois. Census enumerations for 1870 and 1880 show John and Mary Christlieb still residing in Freeport, Illinois. Wendell F. Lauth, Bristolville, Ohio.
