Julia and Alpheus Corder’s children are listed in the 1860 and 1870 census records. For whatever reason, none were listed in the 1880 Illinois census, perhaps an indication that all had died. Alpheus Corder was listed in the 1910 census for Taylor County, West Virginia, an indication that he had returned to West Virginia.
In the 1870 census, Julia Ann and her husband, Alpheus Corder, are shown as residing in Chrislip Hollow, in the Elk District, Barbour County, West Virginia. The records show that Julia Ann and Alpheus were living next door to her parents, Abram and Amanda, and her brother, Ervin G. and his family. Also residing near them was the family of Samuel and Eleanor Jane (Board) Chrislip. It is interesting to note that certain of the Corders were cousins of Eleanor Jane.
