Zebedee John Crouse (Friedrich Carl Christlieb1, Jacob Christlieb2, Elizabeth Crislip3, George Crouser4, Anthony Hamilton Crouse5) [128], born 17 September 1871, Taylor County, West Virginia; died 10 January 1961, Eaton County, Lansing, Michigan, buried in Deepdale Cemetery, Lansing, Michigan; married 15 August 1901, Volga, West Virginia, Victoria Robinson, daughter of Chapen Dexter Robinson and Angeline Chrislip, born 3 August 1875; died 18 October 1959, Lansing, Michigan. Zebedee and Victoria were 4th cousins: Zebedee John Crouse was a descendant of Jacob and Nancy Christlieb’s second child, Elizabeth. Zebedee’s wife, Victoria Robinson, was a descendant of Jacob and Nancy Christlieb’s seventh child, John Chrislip.

Prior to her retirement, Myrtle Reul was a Professor of Social Work at the University of Georgia and Michigan State University. A prolific writer and scholar, Dr. Reul was the author of ten books and more than one hundred articles. She contributed greatly to the history of the Christlieb-Chrislip-Crislip family, having written numerous articles for its newsletter, Jacob’s Ladder.
