Calvin Wingett Reed (Friedrich Carl Christlieb1, Jacob Christlieb2, Christiana Crislip3, Jacob Crislip Reed4) [191], born ca. 1829 in Champaign County, Ohio; died 6 July 1899, Montezuma, Placer County, California; married, 20 February, 1852, Poweshiek County, Iowa, Matilda Light, born March 1825, Virginia, daughter of William and Sarah Light. Married by the groom’s father, this couple is found on the 1856 Iowa State Census in Keokuk County with son Jacob C. Reed.

There is a Civil War Pension file for Calvin W. Reed who served in the California Infantry. He applied for disability in 1878, and his widow, Matilda, filed for a pension 23 August 1899 from Placer County, California.

  • James William Reed (twin of John) (Friedrich Carl Christlieb1, Jacob Christlieb2, Christiana Crislip3, Jacob Crislip Reed4, Calvin W. Reed5) [191], born 26 November 1858, Iowa; died after 1900. He and his father registered to vote in Nevada County, California from 1892 - 1896. He is shown as a farmer, 5' 8", born Iowa. On the 1900 Federal Census in nearby Placer County, California, he is single, age 41, born Iowa, living with his mother Matilda.

  • John H. Reed (twin of James) (Friedrich Carl Christlieb1, Jacob Christlieb2, Christiana Crislip3, Jacob Crislip Reed4, Calvin W. Reed5) [191], born 26 November 1858, Montezuma, Iowa; died 1936, What Cheer, Iowa; married, 14 June 1880, Hannah N. Bowen, daughter of Samuel Bowen and Anna Ellis, born 11 July 1861; died 23 December 1945. In the 1925 Iowa State Census John H. Reed named his parents as Calvin Reed born Ohio and Matilda Light born West Virginia, both married in Iowa.
