The Schlosskirche at Dürkheim
Visitors from America
In the last quarter of the 20th century, various descendants of Friedrich Carl and Anna Catharina Christlieb have visited the Schlosskirche in Bad Dürkheim, including three visits made by the Christlieb-Chrislip-Crislip Family Association in 1988, 1992, and 2004. On every occasion, these descendants were treated as honored guests by church and community members.
The author [Ned Crislip] had the privilege of visiting the Schlosskirche in Dürkheim on seven separate visits to Germany, one of which was in 1976 before the restoration. Below is a photograph of him playing the Schlosskirche organ in 1976 and a photo of him and his brother, Gene Crislip, with sisters, Marilyn Crislip Mullett and Beverly Crislip Speer, standing by the Schlosskirche’s baptismal font, in 1999.

Postscript:
The most memorable visit for the author [Ned Crislip] was his presenting a choral concert in the Schlosskirche in April 1994. With bells pealing from the tower and the ground shaking, Queensbury High School Madrigal Singers walked the short distance from the Parish House into the Schlosskirche, where they were greeted by a capacity-filled audience. As the choral tones reverberated off the ancient stone walls, he reflected on the probability of Jacob and Carl Christlieb’s singing in the choir of that very church and their memories of that place for the rest of their lives.
