William Christlieb, born 9 September 1817; baptized, 29 March 1817, at Ziegler’s Log Church, Mifflin Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania by Pastor Rev. Benjamin Keller; died 15 December 1895, Brown County, Kansas; married 1st, 31 December 1846, Margaret Ann Sipe, born 26 January 1826; died 1 September 1865; married 2nd, Miranda Hoch; married 3rd, 17 July, 1890, Fannie Houston.

“In 1855, he removed to the region of Lexington, McLean County, Illinois, where his wife died ca. 1860. A few years later, he married Miss Miranda Hoch of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, with whom he had one child, Benjamin Edward Christlieb. This union was of short duration. In after years, he remarried and removed from Illinois to Kansas.” The Christlieb Family, pp. 26-27.
“After the death of his first wife, William Christlieb was remarried on July 17, 1866 to Miranda Hock, daughter of George and Mary Hoch of Southampton Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. In the 1870 United States Census, the William Christlieb family was living in Newcomb Township, Champaign County, Illinois.”
“William Christlieb’s second wife, Miranda Hoch, was born ca. 1832 and died February 15, 1877. She is buried in Riverside Cemetery in Mahomet Township, south of Newcomb, where the Christlieb farm was located.”
“In the 1880 census for Newcomb Township, widowed William Christlieb, age 62, is farming with the aid of his two youngest sons, William Francis, age 16, and Benjamin “Eddie”, age 13. William Christlieb married for a third time on July 17, 1890 to Fannie C. Houston, in Gage County, Nebraska.”
“William Christlieb died December 15, 1895 in Brown County, Kansas. He is reported to have been buried at Horton, Kansas.” Wendell F. Lauth, Bristolville, Ohio.

Zumzlt. Samuel and Susan Christlieb settled in Paxton Township, Ford County, Illinois. In the 1900 census, Samuel is listed as a “teamster owner.”
